Frequently Asked Questions
Do you charge a callout fee?
Sometimes. If you call between 10pm and 6am, we will ask for £30 deposit to be paid upfront. This amount will discounted off the cost of the quotation on completion of work. The reason we charge this fee during the early hours is that there are many cases where we can lose money if we don’t.
For example, if one of our locksmiths is called out of bed at 3am, sets off on a 20 mile round trip and just before arriving at the job is told their services are no longer needed, we think it’s fair that a £30 deposit is forfeited.
Unfortunately, there are also people that think it’s a good prank to call out a locksmith in the middle of the night. By asking for a small deposit it reassures us that the request for help is genuine.
Will you double the price you quoted when you turn up?
No! We’re well aware this is a common concern and terrible practice many people have experienced. They see low cost services advertised online - usually around £49 - only to be extorted for hundreds, or even thousands of pounds more when someone turns up at their property.
We will always provide a quote based on the information you’re able to provide. If when we get to the property, the problem we encounter is vastly different to the one described then we will have to provide a new quote before any work takes place.
There will be circumstances where we discover a different problem than expected. In these scenarios, getting you access back into your property and making the point of entry safe is our priority.
What Payment methods do you accept?
We accept a variety of payment methods including cash, credit/debit cards, and online payments. If you have a specific payment preference, please let us know when you call.
Do you unlock cars?
Not at the moment.
Will you change the locks on my property if I’ve lost my keys?
If you’re the homeowner, this is a simple yes, we will change the lock and provide you with a minimum of 3 keys.
If you’re renting your property, we will require permission from the landlord to change the locks.
